Water use
Average water use over the past week was 656 million litres per day, which was below the forecast of 692 million litres.

Since 1 July 2020, we have used 56.64 billion litres of water – which is 0.42 billion litres under the forecast target for this period.
Dam levels (total for 15 dams)
The dam storage levels have risen slightly this week and are sitting at a combined 50.7 per cent* of full capacity.
*Please note some dams are filled from different sources - dam levels include the transfer of groundwater and desalinated seawater from treatment plants as well as streamflow (that comes from rainfall). As we use many different sources of water, dams are no longer an accurate indicator of the health of Perth's overall water supply situation.
Streamflow (total for 15 dams)
From 1 May 2020 the dams have received 34.7 billion litres of streamflow. The post-1975 average for the May to April period (called the streamflow year) is 176.73 billion litres.
Sprinkler roster compliance
Since 1 January 2020, we have taken a total of 4460 actions (warnings + fines) compared with 6527 actions for the same period in 2019.
Annual rainfall
Perth has received 571 mm of rainfall since 1 January 2020. The average (1994-2019) rainfall for the same period to the end of October is 694.1 mm.
General water news
This week we released our 2020 Annual Report, which provides our customers, community and stakeholders with information about our financial performance and contribution to the State’s economy for the 2019-20 financial year.
Highlighted this year is our continued effort to safeguard water supplies in response to climate change, which includes doubling the water recycling capacity of our Groundwater Replenishment Scheme to 28 billion litres per year.
In addition to this, we have saved around two billion litres of water through our residential demand delivery programs, and all of Perth-Peel local governments are participating in our Waterwise Council Program.
This year we also boosted financial support to customers in response to COVID-19. While we have always offered extensive support for customers experiencing difficulty paying their bill, we expanded our assistance measures and provided wastewater charge relief for eligible Water Corporation businesses through the Major Fixtures Waiver.
