Our commitment against family violence
Nothing is more important than the safety and wellbeing of our employees and customers.
According to recent statistics:
- 1 in 4 women experience harassment within the workplace
- 1 in 3 women have experienced violence by someone known to them
- Domestic violence impacts an employee’s ability to perform tasks in the workplace
- Information and communication technologies can be used to perpetrate violence
We have zero tolerance for violence and will do everything we can to support those in need.
Our commitment
Family violence policy supporting our customers
We have a Family Violence Policy in place to ensure the community is safe and supported. We understand the traumatic nature of family and domestic violence and want our customers to know they will be heard and treated with compassion.
Be assured:
- Our employees are extensively trained on how to respond and offer support
- A family violence case manager will be appointed to ensure that a disclosure will only need to be made once, and all account, personal information and interactions are restricted to maintain confidentiality
- Information about support networks and access to financial hardship programs are available
- Recovery action will not be taken on unpaid accounts

White Ribbon accreditation supporting our employees
To equip our employees with the right tools to prevent and respond to incidents of violence, we are accredited into White Ribbon Australia’s world-first workplace program. Across the state, Water Corporation employees are empowered to 'be the change', by encouraging greater understanding, knowledge and action around gender equality and violence prevention.
We have also formed a White Ribbon Committee, made up of employees located around WA to ensure we are reaching all corners of our expansive organisation.
If you have any questions about our commitment to White Ribbon Accreditation please contact our employment relations team.
