Native to our southwest and featuring as WA’s floral emblem (Anigozanthos manglesii to be specific), the Kangaroo Paw is a hardy perennial commonly found in garden beds around the state.

With many different hybrid cultivars now available, sizes vary from dwarf 60cm, tall flowers to large 2m tall flowers. If the traditional red and green flower doesn’t suit your garden, you can now choose from pinks, yellows, orange, red and even black.

Caring for Anigozanthos is rather simple. Regularly hand water after first planting and once they are settled in after a few weeks start to reduce watering to just your watering days. Once flowers are spent, prune low at the base of each stem.
