Wastewater upgrades support growth in Two Rocks and Yanchep
Water Corporation will soon start work on an upgrade to the wastewater infrastructure in Two Rocks and Yanchep.
Water Corporation General Manager Assets Delivery, Nick Churchill said the project would cater for population growth within the City of Wanneroo.
“This important project ensures for decades to come residents will have access to reliable wastewater services to safely remove wastewater from their homes to be treated,’’ Mr Churchill said.
Starting in early February, Water Corporation would begin construction on 4.2 kilometres of wastewater main, starting near the Two Rocks Shopping Centre at the intersection of Lisford Avenue and Sovereign Drive, and continue south along Two Rocks Road.
A further two kilometres of wastewater main would be built along the road reserve for the future extension of Marmion Avenue in Yanchep.
Mr Churchill said the $8.6 million project also included the construction of a new below ground wastewater pump station on Charnwood Reserve and upgrade of the existing Abrolhos Close Wastewater Pump Station.
"People may notice an increase in activity particularly as we work along Two Rocks Road, however traffic management will be in place at all times to ensure the safety of our crews and the public,’’ Mr Churchill said.
“I thank the community for its patience while we carry out this essential work.’’
The upgrade is expected to take around 12 months to complete.
