When moving or selling your business, there are a few things you need to consider.

Your water connection

You don't need to contact us to disconnect your water. The water stays connected, and your settlement or property manager will notify us of the new ownership or tenancy.

A special meter read will be arranged, so we can take a final water use reading and send your last water bill for the property.

Closing your online account

You don't need to close your online account when you move or sell your business. Instead, we'll unlink the property from your account. If you're moving to a new location, you can add your new property when you receive your first water bill.

Trade waste

The business owner must legally notify us, in writing, within 14 days of selling or closing a business. You can inform us by emailing tradewaste@watercorporation.com.au quoting your trade waste permit number and the date of the business's closure.

You also have an obligation to advise any potential buyer of the trade waste permit conditions or any trade waste non-compliance related to the business.
