Recent floods and wastewater - Broome - final update

The Department of Health has lifted precautionary advice for people not to fish, swim and recreate at Roebuck Bay.
Water sampling results confirmed the area is now safe for the community to resume normal activities.
The overflow of treated wastewater from the Broome South Wastewater Treatment Plant on Clementson Street stopped on Wednesday, 31 January 2018.
Treated wastewater from the Broome North Wastewater Treatment Plant did not make its way to Roebuck Bay. This overflow stopped on Saturday, 3 February 2018.
*Wastewater is 99.97 per cent water as it comes mostly from showers, baths and washing machines.
