Lake Argyle picnic area temporarily closed for maintenance works

Water Corporation is undertaking essential maintenance works on the road to the Lake Argyle picnic area following damage sustained from recent heavy rainfall events.

Water Corporation North West Regional Manager Sharon Broad said access to the picnic area will remain closed while crews work to repair the road.

“Recent heavy rainfall at Lake Argyle has caused several rocks to dislodge from the road embankment, causing some minor damage to the road leading to the picnic area,” Mrs Broad said.

“Visitors to Lake Argyle can still access the dam wall, however the road to the lower picnic area will remain closed, until repairs can be completed and the road is safe to reopen.

“Our priority is to ensure the safety of our community and visitors to the area and we appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience as we conduct these essential maintenance works.”
