Water Corporation wishes to congratulate its former Chief Executive Officer Mrs Sue Murphy who today received an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to the natural resources sector in Western Australia, and to engineering.

Mrs Murphy was CEO of the Water Corporation for a period of ten years, during which time she played an important role in shaping the state’s water future.

Water Corporation Chief Executive Officer Pat Donovan said the medal was well deserved and great recognition for Mrs Murphy’s distinguished career in engineering.

“I congratulate Sue on behalf of all of us here at the Water Corporation, and within the wider water industry, for the contribution she has made” Mr Donovan said.

“Sue led the Water Corporation through a complex time of declining rainfall and has set a course for securing Perth’s water future for the long term.

“Thank you Sue we are all very proud.”
