Bridge closure - Forestry Road, Uduc, Shire of Harvey
A bridge on Forestry Road, near Uduc, has reopened after the early completion of emergency works by Main Roads and Water Corporation.
The bridge, in the Shire of Harvey, was closed temporarily on Friday 10 November as a safety precaution, after a routine inspection by Main Roads found two piles under the bridge needed to be replaced.
“Forestry Road provides important access to the town of Harvey from Forrest Highway, and we understand the importance of the route to local residents and businesses,” said Water Corporation South West Regional Manager Nicky Waite.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure, and thank the Shire of Harvey, businesses and residents for their cooperation and patience.”
Speed restrictions for vehicles on the bridge will remain in place while work continues under the bridge for the next three to four weeks.

Work has begun to repair a bridge on Forestry Road, near Uduc in the Shire of Harvey.
As a safety precaution, the bridge, which spans a stormwater drain, was closed on Friday 10 November after a routine inspection by Main Roads found two piles needed to be replaced. Traffic management and detours remain in place.
Water Corporation has been working with Main Roads and the Shire of Harvey to minimise disruption, and to make the bridge safe so it can reopen.
Water Corporation South West Regional Manager Nicky Waite says Main Roads workers will be on the ground by Friday (24 November), and it’s expected the bridge will be open to traffic by 1 December.
“As soon as the bridge was closed, we started working on a solution so we could reopen it as quickly as possible,” Ms Waite said.
“Forestry Road is an important route between Harvey and Forrest Highway, and we are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience caused by the closure.
“The good news is that it will reopen before the school holidays.”
Once the initial work to make the bridge safe is completed and it is open to traffic, work will continue under the bridge for up to four weeks.
In the meantime, people should continue to use the detours in place along Marriott Road to the south and Riverdale Road to the north.
