Ardross Primary School celebrates a decade of waterwise education

Ardross Park Primary School celebrated 10 years taking part in Water Corporation’s Waterwise Schools Program at a special assembly yesterday.

Over the last decade teachers at the school have been educating students on the need to value, protect and conserve water resources.

Students at Ardross Primary are involved in a sustainability program that grows native plants in their school nursery to plant around the school waterwise gardens, in areas around Perth and in farming areas of York.

Water Corporation General Manager Customer and Community Group, Catherine Ferrari, thanked the school for sharing the waterwise message.

“With the impacts of climate change, it is important the next generation are aware of how precious water is, and Ardross Park Primary School has been sharing this message for 10 years,” Ms Ferrari said.

“Thank you to students and teachers at Ardross Park Primary School for your dedication to the program.”

Ardross Park Primary School Sustainability Coordinator, Fiona Schaper, said they strived to emphasise the importance of environmental sustainability to all students.

“We give them experiences and opportunities to take action to conserve precious resources such as water. Our students care about the environment and spread the conservation word to their families and the community,” Ms Schaper said.
